Gift Ideas for a Book Lover

My girlfriend’s birthday is coming up and she’s really into books. She’s given me a bunch of recommendations like Song of Achilles and the Mindf*ck series. I will be getting her these, but I’m curious about other gifts for someone who loves reading. Maybe a bookshelf or are there other books a reader like her would appreciate?

Bookmarks. More books. A trip to a unique bookstore would be at the top of my list.

A birthday bookstore trip sounds amazing. I would love that.

My partner did this for my birthday and chose books from my TBR. It was fun to see what they picked, and I loved them because they were on my list.

The bookstore trip is always great. It’s quality time exploring something she enjoys, and she gets to find some new books. Pair it with dinner to discuss the books she liked and didn’t buy.

Focus on experiences, not just things.

A gift card to her favorite bookstore.

Totally agree. Bookmarks and fun items are nice, but books cost money. A gift card can get her more books.

Exactly, I’m not into bookish merch. I just want cash to buy books.

Take her to a bookstore and let her choose a few books, and you pay. You might also find nice editions of her favorite books.

OMG, if I got a beautiful edition of my favorite book, I would be thrilled. Mine is so worn out. BUT don’t even think of replacing my beloved copy or I’ll be heartbroken.

This is definitely the way to go!

I received a custom book stamp that says ‘From the library of Pa_lante’. It’s such a thoughtful gift.

My wife did the same, and I use it on all my books.

I did this for my wife when she was a teacher, and she loved it for her class books.

I think this idea is great. I don’t have one yet, but I’d love it as a gift.

I got one of those as a gift and I’ve been stamping every book I buy since.

How about a booklight, themed items like candles or mugs, and bookmarks? I also recommend a book cushion for reading in bed or on the sofa.

If she enjoys physical books, a bookshelf would be a nice present.

Other ideas include lighting, noise-canceling headphones, weighted blankets, fancy bookmarks, literary puzzles, themed clothing, bookends, and more:
