What are you hoping for as a holiday gift

For those of us who have pretty much everything we need, what is still on your wish list or is there something that would surprise you to receive?

Haha, I got that, not without some drama though.

I wanted one so much as a kid and never got it. About 25 years later, after sharing my wish with coworkers, they bought me one. I enjoyed putting the stickers on it, but baking with a light bulb just doesn’t work for me now. Nice gesture though.

@Hart
LOL… They don’t really cook well with an LED bulb! My sister had one. I was amazed you could bake cookies and pies with just the heat from a 100-watt light bulb. I got in trouble for putting bacon on the cake pan to cook it. Yes, I had to buy her another one!

@Shae
Used them in kids’ popcorn poppers too, took forever to pop those kernels.

@Hart
That’s so sweet! (Literally, I guess)

I remember mine too. It was pastel yellow. We blamed it for starting a fire, but it was actually because we were playing with matches. It made nice little cakes.

A yellow one.

A good night’s sleep.

I wish for my Christmas birthday to be celebrated as two separate days just once.

New year’s baby here, wish granted.

As someone who’s got most things, I struggle to buy for others. I’ve started gifting ‘experiences’. Some family members love classical music, so I get them tickets to the local symphony. A friend is excited about a local theater reopening, so he’s getting a gift card for movies and dinner there. I also buy things that can be consumed, like favorite wines or even cosmetics. Honestly, I have enough physical items and prefer not to add more to my space, so I guess others feel the same.

@Kiran
I agree. I’ve told people not to buy me things or liquor. I’m already overwhelmed with what I need to consume. I’d prefer to share experiences with them.

I don’t need or want more stuff.

@Jai
I feel the same. I want to enjoy the stuff I already have.

@Kiran
Yes, experiences or specialty foods I usually wouldn’t buy are great. No more physical items for me.

A pony. Still waiting for Santa.

It’s not as great as it seems. It’s tough to manage, and there are always trespassers or hunters who ignore boundaries. I’ve started carrying protection because many of them are armed, which can be scary.

@Grier
Exactly. So many poachers during hunting season.
