What gifts do you suggest for a reader

I’m not sure if this fits here, but I thought you all might have the best suggestions
I’m trying to come up with a gift for my mother-in-law that she would really like. She is a librarian who just retired and only reads print, no Kindle or audiobooks. I enjoy reading too but I’m struggling to think of a good gift for her.
Has anyone received any awesome book-related gifts

This is my wife’s ornament shop, check it out! It’s pretty adorable. I found this thread because I’m looking for gift ideas for her lol

A custom book page or sticker embosser for her library would be great! link to embosser

Yes! My best friend gave me one years ago, and I still cherish it!

@Justice
What a fantastic friend!

Bookmarks, cozy blankets, and tea or coffee with a cute mug are always great gifts.

Etsy has mystery book boxes. They include a mystery book in a chosen genre and additional bookish goodies. I’ve bought several and loved them.

The Midnight Dreary has some particularly beautiful options: https://www.etsy.com/shop/TheMidnightDreary

I really like the Bookish website. I bought a cute book-themed blanket and hoodie from there.

A cozy book-themed blanket and a beautiful coffee mug or tea cup would be a fantastic gift. You could also add a nice bookmark, a gift card to a local bookstore, a sweatshirt or hoodie if she wears them, and maybe a lovely candle?

Maybe a shorter subscription to Book of the Month would work?

I recently got a lovely book blanket. It was a bit pricey but it’s so soft and warm.

You can also find blind date with a book options in many stores or on Etsy. These come wrapped and decorated. You could even create some yourself with a couple of new books, a bookmark, or pens for a nice surprise.

A book light is a must! Nothing is worse than wanting to read somewhere and not being able to see the pages. It’s very functional.

How about a book sleeve?

I second that! I just got some from Amazon so I can read at night after applying lotion, and they keep the book cover safe. They’re really helpful.

I gave this book nook from Uncommon Goods as a gift and it was very well received!

Etsy has these adorable library card pillows that she might like! I have a purple one and I absolutely love it!

Etsy has some really cool book-themed items if you know her favorite book. Personally, I love art that looks like it’s from a real place but is from a fantasy book, like a poster for a city from her favorite story.

There is a company called Out of Print that offers a lot of neat items. As a former librarian, I have received totes, shirts, socks, mugs, trays, etc. from them and I’ve loved every single gift.

I don’t know where you are located, but if you want to gift an experience and are near Washington DC, Planet Word is free and amazing.

Other ideas include a gift card to her favorite bookstore, a cute container for bookmarks, or a thumb holder to help keep the book open (it’s supposed to help with arthritis). A book pillow would also be nice.

Planet Word looks amazing!!
