What about a personalized book stamp? You can get one that says ‘from the library of [Name]’ or ‘this book belongs to [Name]’.
This is such a fantastic idea! If you find someone to hand carve the stamp, you could add more personal details. For example, if their last name is an animal, the stamp could have that animal under the text.

Came here to share this too! Coincidentally, I just got my book embosser from Etsy today, and it’s so much fun. It’d be a wonderful personalized gift for a book lover.

YES! You can get a custom stamp or a standard one where you sign your name. There are also some awesome vintage embossers that do the same thing, with so many options at a wide range of prices. If they just moved their book collection, this would be a great time to give it to them.

I got one from Etsy for a friend a few years back. It cost a bit more than £20, but it was customized. The image was theirs, and they customized the text and name.
Does anyone know of an affordable custom stamp site?
@Jules
Lida21 on Etsy makes custom stamps for about €15! I just bought one for my partner and me; mine’s a rose window design, his is a little medieval devil! I highly recommend it.

This is a nice idea. They’re so cool, but there’s no need to permanently mark a book collection. It makes those books less giftable later, and gifting used books is a good way to keep things eco-friendly.

It doesn’t make them impossible to gift. Lots of people buy and keep used books with someone else’s writing. I have dozens in my library.
I actively seek them out! Other people’s history adds a nice touch to the book.
I’ve recently been won over by book pouches. They’re fabric pouches like laptop cases that you can use to protect books in your bag. I have a smaller one I bought from Etsy for paperbacks, and my mom made me a larger one for hardbacks. If he reads a lot of hardbacks, make sure to check the size. It’s not a housewarming gift, but still a nice one.

I got a book sleeve in a secret Santa gift a few years back, and it’s the best gift. I always keep it in my bag, and I can also use it for anything else I don’t want to get ruined.

I love book sleeves! The Paper and Word ones are my favorite, and I may have too many (can’t have enough).
Same! A book sleeve has been one of my all-time favorite gifts. I didn’t even know they existed until I received one, and now I love not having my books squished in my bag. Plus, it’s got a nice design.
There are some beautiful handmade bookmarks available from crafters in a variety of materials (not just paper). As a reader, I can never have too many bookmarks.
