Haha! That would probably cost much more than the budget in my city!

I’m not sure what it costs here either because they’ve made bus rides free, I think.
But living in a rural area, even a free trip on the bus isn’t that useful since the nearest stop is over 2 miles away lol.
I’m really not into mugs or water bottles because everyone has their favorites already.
Cash or time off would be better. Anyone who gets gifts from the company or manager will likely say they want cash instead. Times are hard; people need money, not more mugs.
If he insists on buying a gift, just tell him that no one wants anything with the company logo on it.
A $50 credit card gift card would work. They could use it anywhere and for anything.
I don’t drink coffee, I don’t want another mug and I’m on a diet. Your suggestion doesn’t really apply to me.
How about giving gift certificates for local restaurants? And let team members know they can swap gifts if they want. Or maybe just treat them to a nice lunch.
If your team is small, ask them what kind of alcohol they enjoy. No drinker would turn down a bottle of their favorite or some champagne.

During our holiday party, people argue over the alcohol gifts.
@Mack
Me too. We refer to it as a white elephant gift exchange, but I prefer calling it dirty Santa.
You might want to try a gifting platform like Goody. You can set a budget and let each person pick their own gift. This way, they choose what they want.

+1 to this.
Goody feels more thoughtful and human than just a gift card, and it lets everyone pick something they’ll enjoy.
Consider an Amazon or Target gift card, or one for a lunch spot near the office. Pairing it with fancy chocolates would look nice.
But really, don’t give any coffee cups. Everyone has more than enough.
Movie tickets would be a good choice.
Forget about the cups. When I did this before, I bought different items like camping chairs, multitools, or Amazon Kindles. Just being honest here.

I had to spend $75 for each of 300 people. Everyone got tired of cups and t-shirts.
Cash is always a good idea.
Consider a hand-crank/battery/solar charging weather and emergency radio. A good flashlight or first aid kit would also be useful.
Honestly, I don’t know anyone who needs more mugs, but I do know many who wished they had emergency supplies last summer and fall.
What about chocolate, a mini champagne bottle, or a $50 gift card?
It could be fun to include $5 to $10 worth of scratch-off lottery tickets in each gift bag.
