How about a bar of local chocolate or something special from the area along with a local gift card? No Starbucks, though. A Target or Amazon gift card is good if there’s nothing local. No more mugs, please.

I also support the idea of Visa or AmEx gift cards. Adding a personal note thanking each person for what they do would mean a lot too. Real appreciation and cash will always be more valuable than more stuff.

A Visa gift card means they can choose what they want. Many people at my place have chosen not to shop at Starbucks, so they wouldn’t appreciate that.
