I like edible gifts that are fairly healthy, such as fancy dried fruits and nuts. Husband said his fave gift ever was a basket of fancy cheeses and specialty jams.
Look at Wanderprints. They do custom stuff.

This website has some major loading issues for some of their more elaborate designs like custom PJ’s and such. It can be painful to design some of the items because their servers or their hosting is not intended for such heavy lifting.
But the biggest issue is don’t believe the delivery estimates when you see them on the website. Items will arrive weeks after they are originally promised making for an awful experience all around. Also, they charge exorbitant amounts for shipping the smallest items. The shipping is slow because everything is shipped from China which they are not up front about on their website, listing several domestic addresses. So keep that in mind. Especially if you think you’ll need to return something. Good luck with that.
I still haven’t received my order so I’m not sure if I’ll ever buy from them again. If so, not without a massive discount code and several weeks before I actually need the item. And I have to actually be happy with the items received. Just want to share that word of warning.
They also have a solid F from the BBB: https://www.bbb.org/us/ca/anaheim/profile/online-retailer/wander-prints-home-decor-1126-1000089398
Keychain. One year, I bought leather monogrammed key chains for all the men. Last year, I got all the women their names in Barbie font.
Get them a nice kite
Personalized tea/kitchen towels! You’d probably see it every holiday.
I second / agree with edible options. “Fancy” pasta with a “fancy” sauce or pesto is always a great gift. Same with nice chocolates or if they are drinkers a bottle of wine.
Or socks. Honestly, who does not love a good pair of socks as an adult?
I like to do booze with a coordinated baked good. Like one person got tequila with some coconut lime sugar cookies. Another got a rich red wine with double chocolate sour cherry cookies
I’m getting custom printed matchbooks with a family joke on them
Midtowndowntime.com is really cool gift shop that sources from indie brands so you know everything is unique and special
A photo puzzle from shutterfly or similar photo store. Take a photo of a local landmark or pretty scene.
Best of luck! Gift giving has become so exhausting now…all the insta reels have my head spinning. Its too stressful to think of a good gift to give people you know and not everyone is in a position to give nice and expensive gifts. I came across this really nicely arranged google doc list with unique/ thoughtful gift ideas for women that are actually worth giving, and not boring. It’s a great reference point for whenever I want to brainstorm or am out of ideas. Im sure you’ll find something in there that will work for your family too.
For just a hair over budget ($5) you can get amazing custom engraved zippo lighters if any of them would use one. I occasionally smoke a cigar but I have carried a lighter ever since I was in boy scouts.
An ornament based off something about the person or something they like.
A shirt with something they enjoy on it. Movie, game, whatever.
Something they could use in the kitchen like an engraved wooden spoon.
@Ozzy
Yes! I love getting and giving ornaments that mean something. One year my husband hunted down a Barbie ornament after I made an offhand comment about this very specific Barbie being my favorite as a child.
Calendars are useful. Etsy has a great selection!
Go visit your local “junque” store ( nicer than thrift but cheaper than antique stores).
Collage.com lets you create a lot of custom stuff uploading your own images! I made a calendar once for someone and even got to input custom dates like birthdays
Edit: also homemade pickles, fudge, sourdough, and shortbread
If you’re crafty, you could make candles or soap for well under this budget in scents that they like. I do this and it is always a huge hit.
Bake cookies. Get Christmas tins at resale to put them in.
