@Leslie
Hey! Your dad sounds like such a fun guy to be around. I love that he enjoys silly gifts and seems to appreciate a good laugh! Here are some suggestions:
Many sports fans have jerseys, but how about a cozy sweatshirt? You can never go wrong with a quality sweatshirt.
A car sunshade - I’ve seen some cool ones featuring the Millennium Falcon. It’s a fun and unique gift that’s not too prankish.
A matching set of a keychain and a dog collar or leash could also be a neat idea. Etsy has lots of those. You might find a Star Wars or space-themed set.
Something funny could be those tiny baby hands you wear on your fingers… I bet he would find that hilarious.
@Leslie
There are some wild and cool shower curtains out there on Amazon or other sites. If you type ‘funny’ in your search… I think your dad will get a kick out of it each time he walks into the bathroom.
My partner, who’s 25, enjoys opening gifts that he can tinker with. He likes things he can set up or enjoy throughout Christmas day. He has a gaming PC and has everything he needs for that, plus he’s a big nerd. I was considering Legos, but maybe you have other ideas!
@Firth
Legos are a great thought, but here are some more ideas:
Book nook kits - there are many cool book nook kits on Amazon & Etsy, some have nerdy themes, and they look like fun projects to put together while giving you a nice piece to display on your shelf afterwards!
Then there are Rokr puzzles that seem popular for people who enjoy building little models.
@Firth
Not the person who posted this, but I got my partner an iFixit kit, and it’s one of his most favorite gifts ever. It’s useful for fixing phones, PCs, laptops, and they often have good sales.
@Darby
One time, I gifted my husband bottles of different types of scotch because he was getting into it but only knew one kind. The liquor store guy helped me pick several for him to try. He loved it and learned which scotch types he liked and what he didn’t. I added some scotch-related gifts like a book about varieties and a set of nice glasses. If he enjoys bourbon, he might like something similar.
My little brother is quite tricky: he’s 22, loves nature, is studying microbiology in a hippie school in the woods, doesn’t enjoy fiction, is into cars and photography, and is a bit shy. He tends to abandon new hobbies quickly but is really sweet and loves plants and animals. He shares a house with roommates. Thanks!
Thanks for this! I could use some help! My brother-in-law is tough to shop for, but he always seems to find me cool gifts. He’s in his mid-20s, enjoys playing Xbox and working out. He usually doesn’t wear fancy clothes or watches and isn’t artsy or a musician. He loves spending time with his dogs, drives a truck, and enjoys the outdoors. I’m stuck.
My aunt is 77 and quite well-off but has worked since she was 13. She can buy all the candles and clothes she wants. She loves puzzles, so for her birthday, I got her a puzzle of a family collage. She’s lost most of her siblings, whom she almost raised. One Mother’s Day, we commissioned a nice painting of her sister. She loves to travel the world, but as she’s getting older, her mobility has slowed down, which makes her sad.
Her interests include food, puzzles, and she has a huge collection of photos on her computer that she wants me to help upload to her phone. She values equality, enjoys jeopardy, The Big Bang Theory, life in the frozen north, and jazzy tunes.

Your aunt sounds like such a lovely person! Here are some gift ideas:
For travel and comfort: A silk sleep mask, electric blanket, nice passport holder, compression socks, or AirTags to track items she might misplace.
Sentimental gifts could include an ornament with a story – my mom used to write family events of the year on clear ornaments. We’d enjoy revisiting those memories each year. This idea could be adjusted by gifting a clear ornament with a photo inside or having guests write memorable stories about her for a scrapbook.
Puzzles: Look for puzzles with art, maybe by Van Gogh that can be glued and displayed afterwards.
Tech: An external hard drive would help keep her photos safe just in case something happens to her computer.
My dad is 45, and he’s one of my best friends. He’s a principal and supports children. He works a lot and secretly doesn’t enjoy his job. He loves cooking sweet potato pies, is into fitness, and always chats a lot. He’s married to a military spouse, and I think he’s starting a new chapter in his life with a new wife, new house, and a dog. He adores my son and I am his only child. He has stepped up a lot because my kid’s dad is pretty lacking and lives far away. I appreciate his support and think he’s a fantastic role model for my son.
Last time, I got him a t-shirt with a sketch of my favorite picture of him and my son plus some foot care products.
His interests include making jewelry, helping others, cooking, music, exercising, and being a grandpa.

Your dad sounds like an amazing person! Here are some suggestions for gifts:
For cooking, maybe a Le Creuset dish (they’re on sale lately at Marshalls!) or some wooden cooking spoons from a local craftsman, or a salt box for seasoning while cooking (there are many on Amazon; my culinary husband loves his bamboo-lidded Japanese salt box).
Since he’s starting fresh this year, a thoughtful ornament to mark his first Christmas in their new home might be nice. Or even a custom sign displaying their last name or initial for the door.
I’ve found that the most giving people sometimes forget their own needs. They might wear the same things until they wear out. A new winter jacket or quality walking shoes could be a wonderful gift if he doesn’t shop for himself often.
He’s into law, has a bit of an attitude, and likes to know a lot. He enjoys being challenged, watches The Bachelor, likes gambling, listens to Sade, and loves the beach. He also enjoyed that Tesla movie. He likes head scratches, is health conscious, and is a bit obsessive about organization.
I’m searching for something to help him unwind that isn’t alcohol.
