Enjoy your awesome gift!

I once had a dear friend I would chat with weekly. Unbeknownst to me, she would take notes and doodle while we talked. For Christmas, I received a big box filled with everything I had mentioned liking throughout the year. Small things like my favorite soda or that craft kit I wanted were all in there. I was so surprised and happy, and it reminded me of our wonderful conversations all year. She has since passed, but that remains the best Christmas gift I ever got.

My sister created handmade Pokémon cards featuring my cats. Three things I love: my cats, my sister, and Pokémon. It’s still a very treasured possession, and I was thrilled.

That’s so adorable!

Oh no! That’s such a great gift.

I got a laptop from my son. I had asked him to help me choose one and couldn’t understand why he was hesitant. I thought he was being rude, lol.

“Thought he was being rude”. THAT IS SO AWESOME! Did you tell him that?

I got a kitten! My boyfriend’s sister had a litter in her backyard, and since no one wanted the black one, we took him in. I can’t imagine being without him now.

You did great! I often wonder why people overlook black cats (or dogs). Underneath that black coat are pets full of personality, good or quirky, but they’re all lovable!

@Arielle
He’s a little firecracker, that’s for sure, lol.

@Arielle
We adopted a black kitten too since they are often left behind.

I’ve heard it’s because they don’t photograph well.

Sometimes I question people’s sanity! Not you, of course.

But why judge a pet by fur color? I had a cat that wouldn’t win any beauty contests, but she was my cat and that’s what made her special.

@Firth
I’ve heard black cats referred to as “void cats” or “house panthers.” :heart:

We rescued the sweetest black Beagle mix. Since I have serious vision issues, I’ve tripped over her many times. Sometimes I simply can’t see her. Our next rescue will be a lighter-colored dog.

I work three hours a week in a small business, doing cleaning, dishes, washing windows, gardening, etc.
Generally, I do what makes the space more appealing for staff and customers, and sometimes I help in the office if asked.
The place is five minutes from where I keep my horses, and I often use the facilities for personal stuff too, especially if it’s raining. I take my tack to the staff room to clean saddles and bridles!

My boss gave me an envelope with a card, a bit of cash, and the words, ‘I appreciate everything you do, it all adds up.’

I almost cried during the Christmas morning tea party I arranged for everyone.

The words on the card!
It’s not the money that counts; it’s the small things I do here and there that make it all shine.

I love that this small business operates on give and take, and that I get to be part of it.

@Flynt
That’s awesome!
